Williams, on the other hand, was a newcomer founded by Frank Williams and Patrick Head in 1977. As soon as Williams entered the arena, a battle between the Brits began, as both teams began to heavily invest in their engineering departments. One of the most memorable moments of the conflict came in 1985, at the European Grand Prix at Brands Hatch.
Nigel Mansell, driving for Williams, battled fiercely with Lotus’s Ayrton Senna for the entirety of the race, ultimately finishing in second place behind Senna.
