Examining Potential Future F1 Tracks
After witnessing one of the future F1 tracks in real-time, with the Las Vegas Strip being transformed into a legitimate race and spectacle, one can’t help but wonder what other Formula 1 future tracks we could see.
Imagining future F1 tracks is an exciting exercise because if any sport can make the wildest of imaginations happen, it’s proven to be F1.
Below, we’ll examine some potential new F1 tracks and create some exciting options that we’d like to see come to the circuit, allowing for more betting on the Formula One to create exciting wagering markets.
Discovering Potential New F1 Tracks to Change the Sport
As we look around F1, there are numerous spectacles of tracks, whether it be the aesthetics or the rich history. As mentioned, the Las Vegas track captured the attention of over a million viewers and numerous celebrities were in attendance.
Additionally, there are legendary circuits like Autodromo Nazionale Di Monza that’s on the outskirts of Milan, Silverstone, which was built on a World War II airstrip, Hungaroring in Hungary, and more.
Below, we’ve thought up four concepts that would make for a fascinating landscape and setting for exciting future F1 tracks.
Let’s see what Formula 1 tracks we’ve cooked up.
- Amazon Rainforest
- Under the Northern Lights
- African Safari
- Great Barrier Reef
- Future F1 Tracks Wrap Up
Amazon Rainforest
Assuming a track can be built that is not only safe for fans to attend but also environmentally safe, just imagine the prospect of a race going through the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil.
We envision a track with thick trees, bushes, and vegetation on each side of the track while knowing that there are unique animals and wildlife not too far away from it all.
As for the track itself, there would be plenty of elevation changes to accommodate the vast nature of the rainforest, and with that comes numerous straightaways where drivers can really put the pedal to the metal.
As mentioned, keeping the local environment safe would be critical. We’re not entirely sure what measures would need to be taken, but working with the appropriate programs and organizations to ensure the safety of everyone involved would be an absolute must. To minimize the impact on the environment, perhaps there would be shuttles to get fans into the viewing area.
Seating for patrons would come with insane views—imagine a site of the track and the vast and mysterious nature of the rainforest itself.
Pulling this off, in reality, may come with far too many hurdles, especially anticipating whatever the wildlife will do and how it would respond to this being built, but as far as Formula 1 future tracks go, that would be an incredible setting.
Under the Northern Lights
From the sweltering rainforest climate, we now have a more arctic setting in Norway under the Northern Lights.
This would take some guessing and crossing of the finger, but the Northern Lights, while it occurs daily, isn’t always visible. For this to happen, you need the right viewing conditions. For Formula 1 future tracks like this that require an environmental spectacle, there would need to be some scheduling flexibility to do it.
Being able to watch an F1 race while the Northern Lights are above you is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
As for the track, we imagine it set in a location where fans, elevated from the ground, could see snowy mountains in the background while drivers scamper across the arctic tundra-like conditions parallel to completely frozen lakes.
Ensuring there are no environmental concerns would be paramount, especially since the whole point of this track is to enjoy the landscape’s natural beauty.
African Safari
As discussed with the rainforest, any time you introduce vehicles with fuel, construction, and the environment, you’re walking a fine line, but thankfully, these are hypothetical F1 track examples.
For this, we picture a track on the outskirts of the condensed wildlife but instead serve as a backdrop to the overall location.
The landscape would contain trees, various animals and wildlife, and luscious grassy fields.
Due to the nature of the environment, there would likely be numerous straightaways.
For this view, we’d sacrifice track complexity for more of an overall mood of the setting to watching races reach 200+ miles per hour while zebras and other wildlife can be seen off in the distance.
We’d even look to provide fans with some sort of instrument to view the savannah before and after the race to make it an exciting event that all fans could enjoy, whether they’ve watched F1 since its inception or this is their first experience.
Great Barrier Reef
OK, here we go.
With our other future F1 tracks, we’ve been walking a fine line between wildlife and the environment, but here, there are still basic environmental protocols to follow. The setting everyone is interested in is watching the sea with the race taking place on land.
For this to reach its maximum potential, it would absolutely need to take place on the coast. It would need to be on the road closest to the Great Barrier Reef, with tunnels constructed around the track equipped with imagery to fully encapsulate the drivers within it as if they were in the ocean driving.
For fans there in person, they get to experience the actual Great Barrier Reef off the coastline, while viewers from home will see drone shots before, during, and after the race and see the incredible architecture.
There would be plenty of straightaways and some winding of the track to complement the actual coastline itself.
As far as potential new F1 tracks go, this one is most likely to happen as soon as possible.
Future F1 Tracks Wrap Up
Future F1 tracks could take on many forms as time and technology evolve. When imagining a landscape where a track could be a circuit frequents or even for a one-off, Formula 1 is the only sport we trust to make it happen.
Suppose F1 could bring these future F1 race tracks to life. In that case, you’d tap into a whole new audience of fans who would go for the spectacle and environment and become fans afterward.
Now, are all of these tracks possible? Several logistic and environmental intricacies may prove impossible, but for the sake of this exercise, we attempted to create future F1 tracks that would be jaw-dropping.
Either way, we’ll examine Formula 1 future tracks as we approach 2030 and beyond.
