How to Play Daily Fantasy Call of Duty
To start playing Call of Duty DFS, you will first need to create an account with the platform. Bear in mind that you will need to confirm your identity for your account to be active. Once that is done, you can navigate to the eSports DFS section of the site and find Call of Duty.
Next, to participate in a fantasy competition, you must create a team of players with their stats. This is where knowledge of the game and player statistics comes in handy. Each player that you pick has their strengths and weaknesses. Make your CoD DFS picks based on the competition you will enter.
The Draft
The first step towards participating in a competition on a Call of Duty DFS site is to create your team. You will have to choose who the team's MVP is as their score is multiplied by 1.5x, then you will need to select the rest of the roster and pick your team. For a standard fantasy CoD team, you usually select the following players:
- 1 MVP
- 5 Normal players
- 1 Team (pick a team name from the roster)
The draft is held before the start of a competition. Each player has stats that showcase their strengths and weaknesses. This is crucial, especially when selecting who your MVP will be, as some players are better at fragging (defeating opponents), while others specialize in capturing objectives. That's why having a different draft for each type of competition is important.
Since fantasy CoD competitions are held in-house, the scoring formats can vary depending on which site you have joined. The most common one we will also showcase below is the DraftKings CoD DFS scoring. The way the points are granted is the same in all game modes.
- Opponent kills: 2 pts
- Death: -1 pts
- Capture time: 0.1 pts per second
- Match sweep bonus: 20 pts
- Hard points not played: 20 pts
- Search and Destroy not played: 20 pts
We would like to mention that each game mode's objective is the most rewarding in terms of points. While your team might be doing well on kills, if the other team wins the match by completing the objective instead of having the most kills, then they will be ahead in points. It is crucial to properly pick your team depending on the game modes that will be played in the competition.
Before Gameday
Before the competition starts, you need to make sure that you have selected what, in your opinion, is the best CoD fantasy team for that event. Ensure that you have filled all of your positions, picked the correct type of MVP, and selected your team.
Bear in mind that once you draft your team, you will be stuck with that selection until the end of the tournament. This means that compared to other popular DFS sports, CoD fantasy events don't have waiver periods and no player trades. You will have a virtual budget of $50,000 to pick and choose which players to join your team.
Here, we would like to remind you that knowledge is power. The better you understand the game rules, player statistics, and their performance in the past seasons, the better you will do in the competitions. In most cases, having a more expensive MVP yields better results.
