How to Get to the Los Alamitos Race Course?
Contrary to its name, the track is located in Cypress, Los Angeles, just east of the Los Alamitos district. From Long Beach, drive north and turn east on E Willow St. Entrance is from Katella Ave. From North LA, get on I5 and take Exit 109A onto Katella Ave. A short drive west will take you there.

City Bus Lines
Bus Route 50 will take you to the track for Orange County or Long Beach. From North LA, you can take Bus Routes 28, 460, and LB or Routes 720, 62, LB. The nearest bus stop to the track is Katella-Siboney – a three-minute walk.

Airport Shuttle
Los Alamitos Race Course does not provide a free shuttle service, so you will have to plan the trip yourself. The cheapest option to get there from the airport is to use the metro (Line C). A cab will cost around $100.

The Los Alamitos Race Course doesn’t offer lodging but it is one of the oldest sports betting locations in Los Angeles. Built by a local construction tycoon, Frank Vessels Sr., the track held its first pari-mutuel meet over 11 days in 1951. In the following year, the complex saw a renovation and received a license to host 12 races a year.
