The defending champions, the Las Vegas Aces, secured a clean 2-0 sweep against the Seattle Storm, while the Connecticut Sun managed to eliminate Indiana Fever despite the impressive playoff debut of rookie Caitlin Clark. Finally, the Minnesota Lynx won against the Phoenix Mercury.
Several players were essential assets for their teams. Breanna Stewart was instrumental in the New York Liberty sweep over the Atlanta Dream. A’ja Wilson from the Las Vegas Aces won her third WNBA MVP award. This happened just shortly before the start of the playoffs.
