It has been reported that the sports betting operator, Bally Bet, has moved a step closer to expanding its footprint in the USA by debuting its mobile platform in Maryland.

This is said to be part of a strategic expansion plan and comes not long after it debuted its platform in Massachusetts. The Bally Bet mobile sports betting platform went live in Maryland at the end of July, and it means that the operator can continue its ongoing growth across new markets in the United States.

Now that the operator has launched its service in Maryland, it takes the number of states in which it is operational up to nine. This includes Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, New York, Ohio, Massachusetts, and Virginia.

With some sports betting operators pulling out of the USA market over recent months, the launch of Bally Bet in Maryland is likely to be a welcome addition, and it means that sports fans will have more options when it comes to which sportsbook to use.

Second Recent Launch in Maryland

The introduction of Bally Bet in Maryland means that there are now two sportsbooks that have recently launched in the state. The other was LetsBetMD, which launched its service at the beginning of July.

Bally Bet launched after it was given the green light by the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Commission following a successful demo of its mobile sports betting platform. Regulators confirmed that the platform met all regulatory and operational requirements before giving Bally Bet the go-ahead to launch.

In a recent press release, Bally’s Corp officials wrote that the Bally Bet Sportsbook app offered

…a seamless and enjoyable sports betting experience for sports fans throughout Maryland. Built in collaboration with White Hat Gaming and Kambi Group, two renowned gaming technology companies, it provides a wide range of betting options, including spread, money line, total bets, in-game betting, and same game parlays.

They went on to say that Bally Bet offered a range of features that customers enjoy, which made it a great option for sports betting in the state. The Chief Operating Officer of Bally’s North America Interactive, Brett Calapp, said that the company was very excited to have launched in Maryland.

It was also confirmed that the sportsbook operator has partnered with UJIMA in order to ensure diversity and inclusion in its operations. The owner of UJIMA Sportsbook, Malik Edwards, said that he was thrilled about the launch and that he was confident that Bally Bet would be successful in the state.

More Operators to Join the Maryland Market

With two new sportsbook operators joining the Maryland sports betting market in a matter of weeks, sports fans will benefit from more options when it comes to placing bets.

It has also been revealed that there could be another new player in the Maryland sports betting sector soon, with the micro-betting platform, Betr, expected to launch its services in the state. At present, this operator is undergoing regulatory approvals, but once it receives the green light, it will mean another option for bettors.
