It has been announced that sports betting giant, DraftKings has become an official partner of the Women’s National Basketball Association for daily fantasy and sports betting. As an official partner, DraftKings will benefit in a variety of ways and will be able to enhance the experiences of sports fans. The news was announced during the WNBA All-Star Game weekend.
Officials from both DraftKings and the WNBA have expressed excitement about the partnership. Many believe that it is also a sign of the rising popularity of women’s sports and the increased engagement and interest that has been seen in this sector.
The new partnership marks another important step for DraftKings, which already has an existing relationship with the NBA, which was forged several years ago.
Enhancing Fan Experiences Through Partnership
According to reports, the partnership will help to enhance the experiences of sports fans in a variety of ways. DraftKings will incorporate official WNBA data feeds into its offerings. This integration is designed to provide fans with a more immersive and exciting betting environment, making use of up-to-the-minute statistics and game insights.
Matt Kalish, President of DraftKings North America, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, noting it aims to ‘deliver the most engaging WNBA content to DraftKings’ platforms.’ He said that this would not only enhance the experiences of sports fans but would also boost fan connectivity with the sport.
DraftKings will also gain a lot of benefits as a result of the partnership, according to officials. As the new official sports betting and daily fantasy partner of the WNBA, the operator will gain access to a wide array of league and team intellectual properties.
This access will help to improve the company’s marketing strategies and enhance fan experiences with unique activation and hospitality opportunities during prominent league events, including the AT&T WNBA All-Star Game.
Another major benefit of the partnership is the increased media exposure DraftKings will receive via the WNBA’s digital and media platforms. DraftKings will also serve as the presenting partner for the ‘WNBA Postseason Push’, which is a newly created content platform that focuses on providing fans with essential league highlights, social integrations, and updates on odds, especially during the final two weeks of the regular season.
Promoting Responsible Gaming
WNBA Chief Growth Officer Colie Edison also commented on the partnership. She said that partnering with market leaders like DraftKings not only helped to drive growth for the league but also provided fans with ways to engage with the sport and stars of the WNBA responsibly.
She said that the partnership would help to promote fan engagement while also emphasizing responsible gaming to ensure that fans enjoyed the sport safely, ethically, and responsibly.
Both DraftKings and the WNBA are active participants in the ‘Have A Game Plan. Bet Responsibly’ campaign with the American Gaming Association. This initiative encourages responsible gaming practices such as setting personal betting budgets and choosing licensed operators for placing bets.
In addition, the WNBA’s membership in The Coalition for Responsible Sports Betting Advertising further highlights its commitment to maintaining safety and responsibility in the sports betting sector.
