On October 20, 2024, the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the New York Mets in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series. They’re now heading towards the World Series, where they’ll meet the New York Yankees in what we believe will be a rather close contest. The acquisition of Shohei Ohtani is one of the best moves made by the LA Dodgers in recent years. Along with two other players, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, Ohtani has formed an extremely powerful trio that had a critical role in the team’s regular-season dominance.
The midseason acquisition of Jack Flaherty and the return of Tyler Glasnow have also been a huge help pitch-wise. Tommy Edman’s performance is also worth mentioning. After driving in 11 runs, the utility player was named NLCS MVP. All these excellent LA Dodgers team members have created a powerful and apparently successful balance.
Despite consistently entering the playoffs as one of the top teams, the Dodgers have faced postseason disappointments. Their last World Series title was in 2020, when they defeated the Tampa Bay Rays in six games. However, they’ve successfully navigated their challenges and the tough competition and have rightfully earned their place in the 2024 World Series.
